With the knowledge of counselling micro-skills, participants who progress to the Advanced level will be equipped with the counselling approach using Solution-Focused Counselling. Participant will understand the basic concepts, assumptions and the principles of solution-focused counselling and to apply SFBT skills to empower client in helping relationships.

  • The differences between solution building and problem solving
  • Basic assumptions and tenets of SFBT
  • Key stages of SFBT
  • Different types of questions such as Miracle question, Exception question, Relationship question and Scaling question

This course is suitable for general public as well as workers in the social service field who are interested in helping people.


Participants who meet 80% class attendance will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by the Academy of Human Development.
