COURSE OBJECTIVE
This programme aims to equip trainees with practical approaches in counselling individuals. The programme will be conducted in an interactive learning format to give you a better understanding of counselling, develop greater self awareness and enhance your personal qualities as a people helper.

Role Play and Skills Practice Apply the skills taught during role play to concretise the learning of counselling skills**Each participant to bring a case and take turns to play the counsellor and client roles |
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is targeted at workers who worked with people such as human resource staff, supervisors, managers new entrants to social work, social workers, para-counsellors, policemen and other social service practitioners in a range of sectors (i.e. hospitals, schools, religious organisations, etc).
This course is also suitable for the general public with little or no background of counselling but who are interested to become effective people-helpers to those in distress and need support.
Participants must be at least 17 years old and above, be able to speak, listen and read English.
MODE OF DELIVERY
Combination of teaching, group exercise and discussion, and role-play experiential practice
AWARD
Participants who meet 80% class attendance will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by the Academy of Human Development and Fei Yue Community Services.
